Complex systems don’t scare me.
What interests me is the human behavior inside them.
I’m Karina Guzman, a product and UX design leader with over 10 years of experience shaping digital platforms across fintech, global payments, and higher education.
I’ve learned that the fastest way to move products forward isn’t speed. It’s trust.
My work focuses on turning tangled, regulated workflows into intuitive experiences people actually adopt. Trust isn’t built through features alone. It’s built through care. Care in the small details, care in the language, care in the decisions most users never notice.
Good design doesn’t assume.
It listens first.
Designing across cultures has taught me that what feels intuitive in one context can feel unfamiliar in another. Culture shapes how people interpret risk, language, and flow. The systems we build only work when they respect that.
I stay curious.
Challenges keep me grounded. Currently growing my AI skill set, I’ve earned the Google AI Professional Certificate and I'm building hands-on experience with Claude. I’m fluent in English and Spanish. I enjoy traveling and learning how other people live and think. Different perspectives open your mind, and that's how ideas come to life. When I’m not working, I’m hiking with my dog Benji or baking, perfecting a recipe on a Sunday.
